Kookin' Kidz

Great Flash game: fly around as a witch, grabbing the little childers! Drop them in the pot. Mwuahaha!

Monitors

For a while I've had a Sun GDM-E17 monitor on my desk, acting as a Post-It repository. Well, it's now been replaced by a 10-year-old Dell UltraScan 15" monitor.

A little bit of work in VIM, and X now treats it as an additional 800x600 extension to my desktop, which can pan left and right to give me a virtual work area of 1600x1800. I now have Gaim, a terminal, and XMMS on my other display, which is quite nice!

Windows, on the other hand, will either clone or extend - but doesn't support different resolutions.

Sometimes I miss the support of Windows, but it's things like this that make me glad of editing config files by hand!

Politics and War

Here is an interesting piece entitled "Daddy, why did we invade Iraq?", and some discussion. It's quite an amusing but worrying chain of thought - well worth a read.
