Visitors

Last week, 1000 hits, with 357 from Mozilla, 321 from IE, 138 from NetNewsWire (me and Anthony), 83 from Netscape (don't know who uses that - probably a bot, lying about its string), 20 from FAST-WebCrawler, 9 from the Googlebot, and 5 from FeedDemon, so there seem to be some regular readers!

It would be nice to see my referrers... I'll have to put more effort into that little logger I tried to install. I'll never put up a guestbook ;)

What's interesting is that the 'Mozilla' category (which Analog, simplistically, takes as anything returning 'Mozilla' in the user-agent string, thereby including Safari) is larger than IE. This I take to be a victory; even if I make up a disproportionate amount of page views from checking my posts for correctness, it's a little step towards standards in browsers.

Busy old day! PeakFlow.

Blimey - 7th post of the day.
I've finally (i.e. 15 months later) got round to uploading PeakFlow and the associated screenshot.
Just think - this was suggested as a possibility for my undergraduate final-year project!

I think I might redesign the website now ;)

Aaa!

Ever feel like there's too much to read?

I sure as hell do.

And my RSI kills like an absolute slag. Time to read for 2 days I think.

Tao of Mac

The Tao of Mac is an inspirational site - this is how I'd like to use a blog. Not only blog postings, but also Wiki-style pages of reference. For example, an entry on the game Quinn spins off a Wiki entry for it.

In other news: I must look into rdfDB for backend data store for Semantic Web stuff.

Procrastinating

I just spent probably an hour working on CSS and things.
Now, however, you'll notice the embedded galleries flowing to fit the page divisions; a good example is here, and in the previous post.

I love CSS!

At some point I'll get round to redoing the whole page in compliant XHTML and CSS; none of those bastard tables.

Relevant links (mostly for me):

  • Floating layout (great site)
  • Better living through XHTML
  • How to write a better weblog!
  • Using the right DOCTYPE
  • Taming lists with CSS
  • Doing cool custom corners with CSS
