Monitors

I'm sitting in front of a Sun GDM-5510 monitor. Its display area is more than A4 height; indeed, it has a 19.7-inch visible diagonal. It's also brighter than anything else in the world, has settings for everything, and is going about 76Hz at 1280x1024. Dual inputs. Very nice indeed. I want one at home.

To be honest, I want two.

I'm actually not unhappy to be working on this nice, stable, expensive SunBlade 150. Keeps me out of the office!

Interesting thought from Russell Beattie

Here's Russell's opinion (which I agree with) on the iPod:
Well, I'm sticking with my guns: The iPod needs a color screen, integration with wireless technologies and just a general mobile technology rev. Apple's got to get with it, get over the Newton Effect and produce either a mobile phone or a PDA or some other consumer oriented device. The iPod isn't called iMusic or something like that, right? So obviously it's been in the plans for a long time to make that device into something more than just a portable hard drive. Now is the time that's got to happen.

I agree that the iPod mini is a little too pricey - $250 working out to £137.68 at the moment, for 4Go. It's still pretty good value for money for something that's comparable to a much smaller Gen-1 iPod, but more than I was expecting. I'm sure Lisa would love the pink one!
Amusing statement from the iPod mini page:
... into a case weighing just 3.6 ounces and smaller than any cell phone(1).
(1) Compared volumetrically to cell phones sold in the U.S..

Are they completely sure about that? I'm sure the Ericsson T66 was sold in the US once - it was tri-band.
