Lost In Translation
Gently and tactfully observed, beautifully shot, genuinely heartwrenching. It's so wonderfully performed and written that you almost forget that it's a marvellous comedy; indeed, the trailer pitches it as a culture-clash laugh fest.
In reality, though, it's a delicately-handled, achingly beautiful love story with a satisfying (and deliciously frustrating) end.
Yes, you can borrow the DVD.
Addendum: Better reviews than I can do;
spoiler - the whisper;
interview with Johannson (Charlotte) and Coppola.

A good day so far...
Got in early (well, 9am) with no mishaps. I have a full tank of petrol, and it's a nice bright day.
More importantly, after waiting 10 days (
19 since the start of the case) for Dell's email support to get back to me, I called them. A little while on hold, but half-an-hour later I have a tracking number of the new drive they're couriering out to me.
The chap took my word for it (I did drop in that I'm a CS researcher...), and true to the warranty even offered to send an engineer to fit the new one! I passed up on that - I should be able to manage ;)
Now I just have to do some work... Heh!
