Cheery

Nothing quite as cheering as cruising down the M4 at 2 in the morning, listening to Led Zeppelin. Bowling was entertaining, though I was terrible.

I have to get up for work in less than 7 hours, and I have a bit to do before bed!

On BMG's stupidity

My Amazon order arrived this morning, including Sarah McLachlan's new CD, Afterglow. Apparently it's copy protected, which means that:
  • You're not supposed to be able to rip it
  • It won't play in some CD players
  • It'll only play on Windows computers
Well, it works in my iBook, albeit with a very strange noise as it spins, and duly ripped in iTunes. The MP3s sound fine, and that's all that matters to me.

So, they put in all that effort, possibly alienated some customers, and may have left me with a CD that won't play in my car (the only place I use CDs now), all to stop me ripping the tracks. And they didn't achieve that anyway.

BMG, you're fucking idiots.

Dinner

Last night the Ottakar's crew went out for dinner at the Hong Kong in Windsor: Dave's birthday, Elisha's birthday, Susie's birthday, and Anthony's leaving do. Not a bad evening; I tried to be on good spirits, and I wouldn't say I failed.

Afterwards, went to the pub for 20 minutes to see Howie, Greg, Lisa, and Tom who were out. Bizarrely then drove out to the 24-hour Tesco in Slough, which I don't really understand. Still, slightly awkward.

Now I'm off to Lisa's — it's Franny's birthday, so I'm giving her her present.

It's also Susie's birthday, so happy birthday to her too!
