George Michael

I just watched the aforementioned pop legend on Parkinson, and I must say that I'm enormously impressed. He has a very healthy understanding of himself, is witty, good-humoured, and insightful.

He's also come up with what a number of celebrities (e.g. Metallica) would call a hare-brained scheme of giving away his future albums, because apparently he's got enough money. The way he puts it is that he's not a socialist, but he doesn't need any more money. A sensible and honest man!

Also, Careless Whisper. Need I say any more? Perhaps I should order Patience.

Interesting things from today

Firstly, a rainbow, and secondly a bizarre Batmobile that was driving around Windsor, honking its horn. It even had a rocket exhaust on the back.
Apologies for the awful, awful quality — the P800 is not exactly the world's best camera.

What people should learn in school/college

A very interesting piece on what should be taught:
  • Basic abstract maths (sets, relations, functions)
  • Logic (arguments!)
  • Macroeconomics
  • Investment
  • Meteorology
  • Microbiology
and so on. From Language Logic originally.

Cat Attack, Amazon

This is absolutely vital.

Cats are dumb. A good dog would take one look at Takara's new $25 Cat Attack remote-control toy, understand that it was designed with only pet torment in mind, and crunch it into pieces. Cats, though, with their split-second reflexes and 'only brain in nature without long term memory' will be betrayed by millions of years of evolution to threaten and bat at Cat Attack again and again.

Genius indeed! Cats are stupid.

In other news, Amazon make me laugh. I ordered Sandman book 6, and they sent me a different edition to the one pictured. So I emailed, and they said they'd post me a replacement (which I knew was just asking for trouble). This morning, the exact same edition duly arrived. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

My iPod is so pretty, I just have to baby it. Must buy a case. And a screen protector.
