Validation!
That came as a shock!
After every post, I click on that validation link in my right sidebar. Some time between late afternoon and now, the W3C has changed their page — it's now got a picture of a tree in the top right, and it's a bit more elegant.
Well done them! I wonder if the functionality has changed at all?
I might go and watch
Event Horizon now.

Writing
I feel quite pleased; in the last two days I've jumped into unwritten sections of my current report and, well,
written them.
I have read with awe papers which simultaneously seemed to demonstrate rigour while being clear, concise, and pleasurable to read. I aspire to that manner of writing, where the author is clearly in command of the facts, avoiding the impenetrable style of many papers. I really feel that my writing has improved recently
* — it had become very difficult for me, with my thoughts out of order and the words not saying what I meant them to say. I am quite relieved that I've taken a step away from that stilted writing. It's probably practice!
I also seem to have really got a grasp of RDF, RDFS, and OWL, where previously I was quite patchy; the role of each technology (and, indeed, N3, N-Triples, and RDF/XML) are quite clear to me now. It's all down to reading the documents. I'm quite enthusiastic about writing some RDFS by hand — I just need a reason!
Good going so far!
In other news, Mark (in Slough for a training course) and I met up last night for a couple of drinks. Very pleasant indeed — now I'm hunting
you, David, Matt, and Carey!
