Odd Bosco build problem, and a solution
Trying to compile
Bosco with
openmcl and the stock
build.sh threw up this error:
Unrecognized non-option arguments: (:swank-port 'disable :framework :carbon :application-class "BOSCO-CARBON-APPLICATION" :application-name "Bosco"))
This apparently is caused by
openmcl doing something odd with the command-line parameters with the
-e flag, as it does the same thing with any kind of quoting, and any passed expression.
A workaround that works for me is to use the batch mode option (
-b). Change linke 76 of
build.sh to
echo "${make_form}" | openmcl -l $system_definition -b
If it's not been working for you, give that a shot.

Speech in OmniWeb
Awesome. “Switch to OmniWeb”, “Next tab”, “Move page down”, “Watch this item” (it can recognise link text!).
Add to that switching apps and the other features, and it's actually
useful. Waddaya know. Though hitting Esc in Vim is a challenge…

Note to self
The Z1010 is
already semi-obsolete, courtesy of the V800 (
aka Z1020), which will apparently have Bluetooth HID and a 1.3MP camera (
Gizmodo link). It's Vodafone branded, but hey.
Reminds me of the P800 “announced in March, available July, about the same time as we are told to start waiting for the P900” mess. It's like buying a computer, except these are actually quite significant changes, and you have to carry them around with you for 12–14 months. I'd quite like to get it right.
