Schneier on Safe Personal Computing

Security legend Bruce Schneier has some interesting personal computing security advice on his blog this month. My favourite, which might be a bit controversial to some:

Passwords: You can't memorize good enough passwords any more, so don't bother. For high-security Web sites such as banks, create long random passwords and write them down. Guard them as you would your cash: i.e., store them in your wallet, etc.

Read and heed!

O! the pain of yesterday's TV guide

TV guides ought to go blank after their allotted day, to avoid me seeing that I have missed the chance to record Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence again. Oh, and to see Bullitt, and the reportedly not-too-bad Bring It On. Drat.

Suffice to say I was “recovering”. Ow!
