Et cetera

Mac:

Oh no! They ruined Mail! How can they make an application SO UGLY? But notice that they've got rid of the drawer…

Pages and Keynote 2: hmm. OK, I suppose. Rumours were spot-on, but I don't see myself using Pages. I'm a LaTeX man, because the last thing I want to do is “precisely place everything on your page”. I mean LyX, of course. Try it out, for God's sake.

Mac mini: great idea. Underpowered, perhaps, but this would happily sit on my desk and do so much in silence. I bet it's £400 in the UK, or more, though. Russ provides a photo. (Update: make that “from £339”!)

iPod Shuffle: good name, great price (again, £100 in the UK…). I'd buy one, and one as a gift, and I already have an iPod. I agree with the rest of Alexander's thoughts, pretty much. Russ summarises. (Update: £69 for the 512MB, £99 for the 1GB. I was right on this one!)

In other, non-Mac, news: if BoingBoing did Clerks; when gaming blends into real life (I remember sticking to certain areas of my school to keep my r_speeds good… scary!).

That's enough for now, I think.

Ultraviolet, Tim

Quote of the Day™ from Anthony:

uv is good - can't get over jack davenport trying to look moody, though. giggle. it's like vampire hunter d crossed with coupling.

Referring, of course, to the modern vampire-based drama series of a few years ago.

Tim's just gone for coffee — which means he's done all of 3 minutes of work today. A model for us all.

I'm one to talk, though: after all, I am blogging this rather than working!
