Some pointless stats
So far this month:- Yahoo! Slurp has hit my Web server 3630 times. By comparison, Google has visited 5885 times, soundly trumping MSN Search's 832. My poor lonely robots.txt was only accessed 557 times.
- I've served up 27831 images; mostly those little buttons in the bottom right.
- I have 4 Bloglines subscribers; these guys took up 1310 accesses of my RSS feed, thanks to a double listing. Great. I had 6328 other RSS accesses; assuming 8 checks each day from each user, I have 37 readers.
- The blog main page got hit 4367 times over 21 days. Small fry.
- 1077 Firefox users saw my Google ads this month.
- Special slightly-sarcastic thanks to Comet Systems, who thoughtfully left a minute between each hit when they were dumping every single page of the site. Twice.
- Follow up thanks to EmeraldShield, who equally thoughtfully
generally ignore robots.txt files because spammers will add them to sites to keep search engines from finding their content
. Um, yeah. So, which of my readers is unfortunate enough to be behind an EmeraldShield product? - God bless the poor guy who got to my “answer” page with this query. I don't think I answered his question.
- Sorry to James Anderson for taking up 6th place in Google for “perspex machine” for some lecture notes I was paid to take!
- 431 people wanted to find out more about my music server; by comparison, only 261 for my iPhoto RDF plugin, and 52 for my SMS processor. I think the utility to the searchers is the exact inverse order!
