Hummingbirds

On television at the moment is a programme about flight. There was just a short section about hummingbirds, which also featured the hummingbird hawk moth (Wikipedia page). They are the same size, use identical wing technique, but are from completely different branches of the evolutionary tree. I find it remarkable and elegant that an insect and a bird can evolve to be almost indistinguishable.

Typically, there are no Creative Commons-licensed pictures on the Web. Drat. Take a look at the Wikipedia entry for a picture.

The cast page just saw a minor update.

Microformats

Vidar Hokstad:

MicroFormats using XHTML is to me what tables for layout was to older HTML.

It is a semantic overloading that tries to apply meaning to tags far beyond their original intent, and while it is tempting because of the immediate advantages, I believe it will come back to bite people badly.
