Tinky

Ian Davis over at Internet Alchemy has written Tinky, a tagging service along the lines of del.icio.us. I won't explain it (his post does a good job!), but I like the elegance!

It doesn't have users, per se; instead, referring pages do the tagging. So, if I were to refer to holygoat.co.uk with a few tags, then you'll see the title of this page come up as the “by” field on tinky.org.

I'm not entirely convinced of the modelling — I want to tag, in one go, holygoat.co.uk as being about Lisp, the Semantic Web, me, RDF, and various other crud, but tinky will union these. In a way that's correct (my blog is about all of them), but in a way it's not (it's sometimes only about some of them, so the example of “free” and “cool” doesn't apply).
