Work fails to materialise

I had a productive Saturday night, cracking on with implementing nesting, optionals, and filters in my query engine. It's easier than I expected, largely because of decisions already made — there's certainly something to be said for functional programming! I had hoped to get a lot done on Sunday, but an abortive trip to Thorpe Park, replaced by an extended shopping trip to Reading, scuppered my efforts. On the plus side, I did get some great trousers and a shirt!

The evening, meanwhile, was filled with swishing black costumes — not mine, but in Batman Begins, which was almost perfect (I shall leave the thorough critique to the professionals). Shoot whoever came up with the magic plot-device gadget, though.

I'll see what I can get done tomorrow!
