I'm here

I'm almost too tired to write anything — it's 7:15pm in Mountain View, but 3:15am for my English brain, so I've been up for 22 hours after 4 hours sleep — but I thought I'd announce that I've arrived. The flight was OK; I watched Constantine (much better than expected) and half of Elektra (OK so far!), ate a little, and wriggled uncomfortably for 8 out of 10 hours. Virgin Atlantic: your seats aren't big enough!

I've eaten, done a little grocery shopping (I even got a Safeway card!), explored Mountain View, supped some Sam Adams, and been greeted by the cats. Advice to fellow interns: don't live on your own. Thus far Jenny has been wonderful (especially handy when I'm so knackered that my brain doesn't function!), driving me round and settling me in.

I doubt I'll be mentally ready for work on Monday, but we'll see what happens.

3 months! I can't believe it. I miss you all.

Leaving on a jet plane

I'm in the Heathrow departures lounge, watching the boards like everyone else.

Hmm, I wonder whether to subject my audience to 90 days of internship blogging — perhaps that would be overly cruel! We'll see.

Thank you to Chris, Anthony, Susie, and all the rest for such a nice leaving do, and for the gift; I'll miss you guys. Sorry to everyone I ran out of time to see! Email me, Skype me, text me — I'm only a continent away, but thanks to the miracles of technology &c. &c.…. Please don't call me at 2am local time, though ;)

Thanks to Kim, of course, for a fond farewell. I'll see you soon.

California, here I come!
