Consuming music
Despite having a ton of songs that I've not yet listened to, I decided to have a little purge of my “albums I fancy buying” list. Starting off with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah* led me to Insound. They have a 25% off sale for new customers until September, so I went on a bit of a binge:- Feist — Let It Die
- Sultry chanteuse, incredible voice, foxy.
- Laura Cantrell — Humming By The Flowered Vine
- 14th Street is a poppy kind of masterpiece, so I thought I'd check this out.
- Baxendale — You Will Have Your Revenge
- One of the band members is from Reading, and they have the lyric “Keep your bittersweet symphonies / I'll break your legs if you stop me dancing”. It has to be good.
- Mascott — Follow the Sound
- They are/she is signed to Le Grand Magistery, and I liked the 30-second sample, so I'll take a chance.
- Raising the Fawn — The North Sea
- I have a couple of MP3s, and they're good….
- Montag — Alone, Not Alone
- Why not, eh?
I ought to write up the events of Friday, really, but I lack the energy! Regardless, here's a picture of me on a bike, Larry and myself at the start line, and me giving a mini-lecture, courtesy of Tingting. Just in case you've forgotten what I look like.
* Who, incidentally, are playing in San Francisco in October…
