A nice cup of tea
After a massive lunch at a coffee shop/bookshop in Los Altos, Jen and I went to Draeger's to get some groceries.
This is the best grocery store on earth. I was hyperventilating with joy when I found what appeared to be the ex-pats aisle, and I ended up with this load of stuff!
Yes, that's right: pickled onions, cockles, parsnips, Heinz baked beans and spaghetti, Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea, and mackerel. They also had “English Bangers” —
proper sausages! — so I've got a dinner of sausages and fried onions coming up.
Mmmm. Now, if you don't mind, I've got a cuppa to drink.

Superbooty!
Jen drove us down to Santa Cruz this afternoon, where we enjoyed dinner in a Cuban restaurant whose name I have forgotten. We watched some breakdancing in the street before hitting The Catalyst — one of Jen's friends' husband, Marty, is the drummer in Superbooty, so we went to see them play their last ever show.
The support act, Hot For Teacher, were turned up too loud, but certainly gave it some energy. Superbooty themselves, though, were awesome, with great funky disco, superb “booty girls” doing backing vocals, and plenty of trumpet and sax.
I'd say “definitely worth seeing” but there's no point, as it was their last show. Pity, it was a fantastic performance!
