A Saturday well spent

OK, so I didn't get up until 10ish, thanks to a mild case of got-in-from-Mervyn's-at-3am-itis*, but it was a good day.

I kicked off with coffee and half-and-half, and called my mum to wish her a happy birthday. I love you, mum; it was good to hear your voice. I also got a little bit of post, which cheered me up.

Jen treated me today — we went to Half Moon Bay for a pretty good lunch at the Distillery, but the drive was pleasant, too. A brief period of time at home was sufficient to learn the melody for Escape (I'm just addicted to that guitar line, though Elaina is convinced that all men secretly love Enrique Iglesias — or, at least, his music!), before we headed to Jonathan's house for a party.

Not a bad evening; some decent food and small-talk, and a chat with Jen. The two of us then headed on to Carlos Club in San Carlos. Recently, I seem to be taking to dive bars in a big way; this was a dive, but its main purpose in life was karaoke. They also serve Miller High Life on tap, which I'm told is rare. I indulged in the beer, but not the mic. Not tonight!

Perhaps I'll get some reading and some work done tomorrow…!

* I'd like to place the blame squarely on Sam, for encouraging us to do shots of Jaeger before we left, Corby for playing pool with me, and Shannon for leaving me a mail to which I had to reply!
