VinoVenue

Last night, to celebrate Dave's and Joe's birthdays, Elaina and I ended up at VinoVenue, a wine-tasting bar in the City. We hadn't eaten, and bought a $50 card (you use an ATM-like card to dispense 1oz shots of wine to taste). Prepping for disaster.

Half-way through the card we ended up at the bar, so we got through a bottle of The Prisoner, which was black pepper in a glass. Oh, and I had some beer. Mmm.

My big mistake came when I asked for the Port Flight. Rather than the three ports I was expecting, the barman decided to treat me to 3 sherries, too, and make a decent night out of it. So: one sweet, one dry, one white sherry; one white port, one awesome ruby, and one tawny.

Further, I emptied our card on two shots of a beautiful, beautiful 20-year ruby port.

Then: on to the End Up for some gin, and Quiznos for a Traditional sandwich, before toddling home. Ah, getting drunk — the finest of hobbies.
