Bits and pieces
- Yay for seeing friends! Michelle came to visit Tingting and me for ice cream today. It was great to catch up.
- … then Tingting let me drive her brand new — and absolutely gorgeous — MX-5. It's flame orange, convertible, and Tiptronic. Very nippy. Thanks, Tingting!
- I was behind a red BMW M5 on my way home today. Together we encountered 3 police cars. He was definitely speeding. *looks solemn*
- Last night Sam, Chelsea, and Shaun came over for food and port. I overcooked the beef (too thick!) but the dips, olives, etc. were very nice, and the port (Dow's 1999 Crusted Porto) was utterly fabulous. The night degenerated into boy guitar appreciation as Chelsea fell asleep on the couch.
- Today I wrote what is probably my first piece of Perl used in anger. No regexes, but email and Web stuff. I feel dirty; so much of the language is slipshod, and every attempt at elegance is like pissing into the wind. Ugh.
- Elaina returns from the east tonight. Her flight is delayed, the poor lamb.
