Flight stress
It's utter hell clicking around travel sites, looking for flights that don't rape my wallet. I'm in the awful situation of having a flight in hand (my ‘return’ is always back to England, which isn't much use when I want to return to California), so I have to try to pick a date far in the future. It's expensive, too — I'm getting £400–£500 quotes just to go back to England for Christmas (in fact, just to return from England after Christmas!), and I can't really justify that. I also can't bear the thought of another twenty hours on a plane so soon.
They say that women have evolved to have poor memories for pain in order to forget childbirth by the time they come to have another baby. I suspect that something similar should apply to transatlantic flights.
