Bindings

It occurred to my internal monologue, while I was driving, that binding is a very important concept, both in programming and in the real world. You can even use the same words to describe both concepts: the tying together of a symbol and a thing. From a certain point of view, marriage is such a thing: establishing a binding between a symbol and a person.
