SMS and email

I recently rediscovered Remember The Milk (thanks, Tobin!). I already get voicemail and missed call alerts via both email and SMS. Google Calendar lets me access my calendar through the web, but I can add entries via SMS, and it'll remind me the same way. Vox lets me add blog entries by email.

These are important things when you're on a mobile device: the browser is slow and not good for text entry, while SMS and email are usually well-integrated.

When I started playing around with RTM, then, I was very pleased to see that I could create tasks via email, get all sorts of notifications, and otherwise do everything I might want to do. The barrier to using the service is really low. Given that most times when I want to make a note of something are when I'm in the pub with my phone, not in front of a computer, these alternative input methods are going to really help.
