Profligacy

After many moons of suffering through with Elaina's 19" 4x3 tube TV*, I finally broke down and ordered us a new TV: a Samsung LN-T4065F 40" 1080p LCD. It gets great reviews and it meets my requirements, so I'm confident we'll be happy with it. We'll see.

I also caved and ordered a Garmin nüvi 200 (the base model). The only thing it's missing that I'd like is the TTS road names, but I can definitely survive. It's a substitute wife, for when Elaina's not in the car to tell me where to go.

* Bear in mind that we only watch DVDs, never broadcast TV or cable. “Suffering” is the wrong word… it's just that we can't really host movie nights with a small TV.
