Wait a minute!

When did Design Patterns become a “classic text of computer science”? It was published in 1994, and isn't even about computer science! “Famous text in software engineering”, sure….

A momentary lyrical pause

It's not often I pause mid-line to look up a lyric, but “Shades of midlife crisis, eyes of petrochemical blue.” did it tonight.

That one's from David Sylvian's Albuqerque – Dobro #6; discussion here. That thread has plenty more where that came from. Impressive stuff!

Incidentally, this is three blog posts in one day. These days that's my usual monthly output!
