San Francisco

One of my resolutions, back in June, was to exploit my proximity to San Francisco — going to see bands, wandering around, absorbing ‘culture’. Well, I only made it up to the City twice during my initial three-month stay, so I'm glad I managed to get no work done today at all. Instead, Elaina and I hung out around town: we had a wonderful tea at Lovejoy's*, did some very festive-feeling shopping, reheated some Thai, and watched Eddie Izzard.

I also had my first pumpkin-chopping experience, where I misused Sting to make short work of a leftover Halloween pumpkin. My inner warlike boy was satisfied. Another weekend over with, though… soon be Christmas, as they say.

* I was amazed that they had Double Gloucester — mis-pronounced, of course, Glough-ster; the first syllable rhymed with “plow” — and happily served it to me with crumpets. Mmm.
